The Earn-Only Home Token Economy Calibrator

Set what each chip is worth

Enter your child’s age, one baseline week, and a few family decisions, then select Calculate. The calibrator sets the chip denomination, the daily exchange budget, and how many points each reward takes, using the same rules as the field guide. Nothing you enter is stored.

Your child

Chip denomination follows age: 10-point chips for children under 10, 20-point chips for ages 10 to 17. A scaling factor multiplies every value if bigger numbers motivate your child more.

Baseline week

Use the average per day from one week of logging, before any chips are earned, rounded to a whole number.

Family decisions

The weekly budget sets a private exchange rate that only adults see. Adult time is counted in chips per hour, because a parent’s time is a real cost.

Reward menu

Build this with your child. Daily rewards should cost no money; special rewards are saved for. Leave food off the menu, and never put regular family time on it.

Over the horizon means a special reward takes longer to save for than the saving horizon you set. Choose a less costly reward, or cover part of its cost.
